Here I am here en France doing the double tour of cutie performing both as Lederhosen Lucil (karaoke revival action!) and my baritone ukulele self Krista Muir. So far so gut...although I may return to Montreal to a diet of grapefruit and dandelion greens - never eaten so much "jambon" in my whole life! Strange Fruit Productions put together un vrai tournee rock n' roll - from backyard picnics to oceanside festivals! Here are some photos from the road...

After bizarre and curious shows in both Arcizans-Avant and Hondarribia (The outdoor escalator was surreal), I found myself back in Toulouse for a 2-day show extravaganza. The first night at The Petit London mein alter ego sported some neue sailorhosen:

The next morning Elodie took us out for a beautiful brunch.

Then a special early evening show at The Petit London:

Apres Toulouse...Mirande! Et apres Mirande...Bordeaux! Et apres Bordeaux...un jolie festival en plein air (well, plein tente!) a Itxassou - the Errobiko Festibala. Here's the tent I performed in...genial!

And me in action (photo by Guillaume Anselin):

Et apres Itxassou the Tarnos "Festival Oceaniques" - a big and brilliant festival with sweet staff and delicious snacks in the dressing room tent. MERCI! Lederhosen Lucil even got a handful of marriage proposals that night! An impromptu show at the most lovely (and delicious) restaurant on La Franqui beach thanks to Marc et Louisa:

Mopping up after the show:

Then back to home base in Bayonne for a little CRAZY Fete de Bayonne action.

I went in to this little Basque Food Shop for Piment d'Esplette and ended up playing "Leave Alight" after much prompting and was then serenaded by a band of well-moustached Basque men! Then off to Edwige's to make pompoms (my first time!) for the fete. We had a splendid view from her jolie apt:

Then I took off on the train to Paris where I visited my extremely lovely and talented visual artist friendJules Julien. I performed a special private salon show at his Montmartre apt.:

And then from Paris to Chartres where I am currently working on some new songs and enjoying the relative tranquility of a small historic French town during the holidays. The Datys are my lovely hosts - they will open an art atelier in Fall\Winter 2009. I almost didn't make it as the trains had some major crisis the day I traveled. Here's a picture of me the day after with a news stand owner:

Last night we saw the beautiful "Fete des Lumieres" - giant projections onto historic buildings illuminate the night.

And a detail from the famous church...one of my favorites...can you spot the floating brain?

More to come as this weekend and next I have shows in Pau, Bayonne et Montesquiou before returning to Montreal to shoot the official animation for "Concrete Lovesong" directed by Kara Blake. OUEEE!
