Waltz Across Texas Tour 2006 – DJ Jester und Mich!
For the third and perhaps last time (well, one never knows...) DJ Jester und I rocked Texas in an always entertaining und taco-filled tour. Let’s start with das gorgeous Texas sky en route from San Antonio (where I found out they even have their own airport!) to Marfa. Marfa ist ein magical little town near the New Mexico/Chihuahua border und always a favorite spot to rock.

I did ein instore appearance at The Marfa Book Company to celebrate mein buch “The Joy of Hosen.” The crème of the town showed up to buy books, visit the mini museum of memorabilia und to hear a few absurd ukulele songs!

Spater on that same day we did a sound check for our show that James und Mark Scott (mein 1/2 brothers) put on in surreal indie style (they had a gorgeous wooden stage with real lights und everything!) on their parents’ front lawn. Then that nacht we all kicked up the dust und rocked out and managed not to get shut down by die local politzei!

The day after the show Mikey ate a green apple! I couldn’t believe it! Can you believe it? Much has changed since the days of our Australia/NZ tour where he would eat a meat pie and coke from any given corner store for breakfast, lunch und dinner. Go, healthy Jester go!

Can you believe this monster?!@#! Only in Texas I tell ja! We saw this while on our way to San Antonio from Marfa. It was one of the more disturbing displays of gross excess that I got to witness while on das trip.

Oh ja! We went by Krazy Kat to hunt for ein temporary rock keyboard but instead I fell for this flying V-kulele. I didn’t end up leaving the store with it but some day I plan on starting ein V-kulele ensemble. When they come out with models other than just das black und weiss.

180 Grams was the sweet indie record shop where I held my San Antonio instore launch of “Joy of Hosen.” Here I am spieling for some fun SA peeps und hanging out by the museum mit ein fan. If you are ever in San Antonio you should really pop by this cozy shop.
Rocked the Limelight with local band Reader (jaaaaaa!). We had ein wunderbar time! The fans cleared out mein only 10 copies on tour of das vinyl before I even started mein set...hope you’re spinning and enjoying them!

Wow. I need to make me some major leafy camo-hosen. Isn’t this coat CRAZEEEEEEE! Sadly it only came in das extra large or Krista would have definitely returned home with an entire ensemble. Das artistry involved war amazing...hundreds of real-looking leaves attached to this mesh coat body.

Austin was ein gut time to be sure. A little Protein 2000 at Veggie Heaven und then off to play das instore it at Waterloo Records. Such ein cool und gracious store! So many weird things to buy (like Bacon und Eggs bandaids...und rare Greek music from die 1960’s). So many nice people to play music for.

Then spater that nacht DJ Jester und I (along with Mr. Prince Klassen Esq. III) made the kids dance at Beauty Bar. A very surreal evening that ended with Jester und mein creator Krista rockin’ into the wee hours with "Trail of Dead" freunds.

Sadly, due to the fact that it was DJ Jester’s 30th birthday the nacht of the Houston show the photos were all rather blurry so no evidence of the nacht of debauchery...well, for Jester that is.
Near the end of das tour mein creator Krista und Mikey went to hang out with Mikey’s family und ended up going on an impromptu golf-cart hi-jacking und cruising mission. YES! Das perfect way to end the 2006 Waltz Across Texas Tour!
